Abstract
Pendidikan budi pekerti merupakan upaya untuk mendidik siswa agar siswa memiliki sikap dan perilaku luhur. Pada kenyataannya, pendidikan ini masih belum mencapai tujuan dari dibentuknya program tersebut. Dari hasil observasi awal di SMP Negeri 1 Wonogiri dan SMP Kanisius Wonogiri ditemukan beberapa degradasi nilai budi pekerti yang berdampak pada menurunnya motivasi belajar siswa. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berfokus untuk mengetahui implementasi pendidikan budi pekerti yang berpengaruh pada motivasi belajar siswa-siswi katolik di kedua sekolah tersebut, kemudian mencari perbedaan pola pendidikan budi pekerti yang diterpakan kedua sekolah, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor, solusi dan harapan terhadap pelaksanaan pendidikan budi pekerti sebagai upaya sekolah membantu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa di kedua sekolah.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan melibatkan 18 informan dari dua sekolah yaitu 9 orang dari SMP Negeri 1 Wonogiri dan 9 orang dari SMP Kanisius Wonogiri. Informan terdiri dari 1 kepala sekolah, 1 guru agama katolik, dan 7 siswa-siswi katolik kelas VIII dan kelas IX dari masing-masing sekolah Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan metode observasi dan wawancara. Observasi awal dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuisioner dalam bentuk Google Formulir kepada guru agama katolik SMP Negeri 1 Wonogiri dan SMP Kanisius Wonogiri. Sedangkan pada saat penelitian berlangsung, metode observasi lanjutan dilakukan dengan melakukan pengamatan serta pengambilan dokumentasi fisik, dan metode wawancara digunakan untuk memperoleh informasi yang lebih mendalam dari para informan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua sekolah telah melaksanakan pendidikan budi pekerti yang dapat membantu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dengan cara masing-masing. Kemudian hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua sekolah memiliki pola pendidikan budi pekerti khas yang disesuaikan dengan karakteristik, kebutuhan, dan visi misi sekolah masing-masing. Faktor pendukung dan penghambat yang dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dari kedua sekolah yaitu faktor keluarga, pendidikan, lingkungan pertemanan, penggunaan HP, guru, spiritual dan diri sendiri. Solusi yang diberikan oleh SMP Negeri 1 Wonogiri dalam menangani faktor penghambat tersebut berfokus pada koordinasi antara guru dan kepala sekolah, pemanfaatan grup WhatsApp, serta pemberian teguran pada siswa yang melanggar aturan. Sedangkan solusi dari SMP Kanisius Wonogiri berfokus pada pendampingan dan pelayanan kepada siswa, komunikasi antara guru dengan siswa dan orang tua, mengingatkan siswa untuk bijak menggunakan WhatsApp serta meminta bukti screenshot jika terjadi bullying. Harapan siswa-siswi katolik SMP Negeri 1 Wonogiri yaitu supaya program budi pekerti ditingkatkan dan penerapan hukum serta sanksi dipertegas. Sedangkan harapan siswa-siswi katolik SMP Kanisius Wonogiri yaitu menekankan pada pentingnya program bina iman, renungan dan peningkatan serta penambahan program kekatolikan di sekolah.

Character education is an effort to educate students so that students have noble attitudes and behaviors. In reality, this education still has not achieved the objectives of the establishment of the program. From the initial observation at State Junior High School 1 Wonogiri and Kanisius Wonogiri Junior High School, it was found that some degradation of moral values had an impact on the decline in student learning motivation. Therefore, this study focuses on finding out the implementation of character education that affects the learning motivation of Catholic students in the two schools, then looking for differences in the pattern of character education implemented by the two schools, as well as identifying factors, solutions, and expectations for the implementation of character education as a school effort to help increase student learning motivation in both schools.
This study used a qualitative method involving 18 informants from two schools, namely 9 people from State Junior High School 1 Wonogiri and 9 people from Kanisius Wonogiri Junior High School. The informants consisted of 1 principal, 1 Catholic religion teacher, and 7 Catholic students in grade VIII and grade IX from each school. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation and interview methods. Initial observations were made by distributing questionnaires in the form of Google Forms to Catholic religion teachers at State Junior High School 1 Wonogiri and Kanisius Wonogiri Junior High School. While during the research, further observation methods were carried out by making observations and taking physical documentation, and the interview method was used to obtain more in-depth information from the informants.
The results showed that both schools have implemented character education that can help improve students' learning motivation in their ways. Then the results show that both schools have distinctive character education patterns that are tailored to the characteristics, needs, vision, and mission of each school. Supporting and inhibiting factors that can increase student learning motivation from both schools are family factors, education, friendly environment, cellphone use, teachers, spirituality, and self. The solution provided by State Junior High School 1 Wonogiri in dealing with these inhibiting factors focuses on coordination between teachers and principals, utilizing WhatsApp groups, and giving warnings to students who break the rules. While the solution from Kanisius Wonogiri Junior High School focuses on mentoring and service to students, communication between teachers with students and parents, reminding students to be wise in using WhatsApp, and asking for screenshot evidence if bullying occurs. The wishes of Catholic students of State Junior High School 1 Wonogiri are that the character program be improved and the application of laws and sanctions be reinforced. While the wishes of Catholic students of Kanisius Wonogiri Junior High School are to emphasize the importance of the faith formation program, devotionals, and the improvement and addition of the Catholic program at school.
