Abstract

Instagram adalah aplikasi sosial media yang saat ini menjadi dunia baru bagi banyak orang, khususnya orang muda. Orang Muda Katolik (OMK) Paroki Santo Willibrordus Cepu juga telah memanfaatkan peluang dari media ini menjadi media pewartaan untuk organisasinya. Dalam karya ilmiah ini, peneliti hendak menganalisa pengaruh instagram terhadap keterlibatan OMK dalam hidup menggereja dengan mengacu pada rumusan masalah: Apa itu media sosial dan instagram? Bagaimana pemanfaatan media sosial instagram ditengah Orang Muda Katolik Paroki Santo Willibrordus Cepu? dan bagaimana pengaruh instagram OMK Paroki Santo Willibrordus Cepu bagi keterlibatan OMK dalam hidup menggereja?
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan layanan Google form. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2019 dengan responden sebanyak 52 OMK paroki Santo Willibrordus Cepu yang berumur 13-35 tahun (belum menikah) dan merupakan followers akun instagram “omkcepu”.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, sebagian besar responden memahami instagram merupakan aplikasi berbagi foto dan video. OMK paroki Santo Willibrordus Cepu telah memanfaatkan instagram sebagai ruang untuk membagikan foto kegiatan OMK sehingga dapat menjadi sumber informasi dan referensi bagi anggota OMK lain untuk ikut bergabung. Adanya akun instagram OMK juga memberikan pengaruh positif hampir kepada seluruh responden. Pengaruh positif tersebut antara lain membuat OMK lebih terlibat aktif dalam hidup menggereja, menjadi pemikat untuk ambil bagian dalam hidup menggereja, semakin mempererat tali persaudaraan antar anggota OMK paroki, dan menarik OMK yang selama ini kurang aktif supaya lebih aktif dalam kegiatan menggereja.

Instagram is a social media application that is currently new for many people, especially young people. Catholic Youth (OMK) Parish of Santo Willibrordus Cepu has also taken advantage of the opportunity of this media to be a media for reporting his organization. This research want to analyze the impact of Instagram the involvement of young Catholics church with three status questions: What is social media and Instagram? How instagram account of young Catholic parish of Saint Willibrordus Cepu’s used? And how is the impact of the instagram account of Saint Willibrordus Cepu’s parish for the youth involvement in the life of the Church?
This research used quantitative methods with Google form service. The research was conducted in November 2019 toward 52 respondents from the youth of St. Willibrordus Cepu’s parish, age 13-35 years (unmarried) and followers of the "omkcepu" Instagram account.
Based on the results of the research, most respondents understood that Instagram is a photo and video sharing application. OMK parish of Saint Willibrordus Cepu has used Instagram as a space to share photos of OMK’s activities, so that it can be an information and reference for other OMK members to join. OMK’s Instagram account also has a positive impact on almost all of the respondents. These positive impacts make them more actively involved in the activities, become an enchant to take part in church life, further strengthening the kinship among members of parish OMK, and attracting OMK who have been less active to be more active in church activities.
