Abstract

Lingkungan sekolah merupakan salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi proses belajar mengajar. Lingkungan sekolah sebagai lembaga pendidikan formal, teratur, sistematis, bertingkat dan mengikuti syarat-syarat yang jelas dan ketat. Lingkungan sekolah adalah sebuah komponen atau bagian integral sekolah. Seluruh komponen atau bagian tersebut ikut berpengaruh dan menunjang proses pencapaian tujuan pendidikan di sekolah. Lingkungan sekolah katolik seharusya memiliki ciri khas yaitu berpondasikan Kristus dalam pelayanannya, selalu mengedepankan cinta kasih dan kebebasan injili. Lingkungan sekolah katolik yang baik diharapkan mampu mendorong proses belajar yang efektif dan efisien.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini (1) Memahami lingkungan sekolah yang baik dan sehat. (2) Proses belajar mengajar secara baik dan sehat. (3) Menganalisis sejauhmana lingkungan sekolah memiliki pengaruh bagi pelaksanaan proses belajar mengajar di SDK Santa Maria Madiun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Tempat penelitian di SDK Santa Maria Madiun. Teknik pemilihan responden dengan menggunakan Purposive Sampling yaitu sebuah teknik pengambilan sampel dimana peneliti diberi kesempatan untuk memilih sendiri responden yang memiliki pengetahuan terkait dengan tema yang diteliti. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan google form. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 6 Guru di SDK Santa Maria Madiun, yaitu dua orang kepala sekolah dan empat orang guru. Metode analisis yang digunakan secara induktif.
Dari hasil penelitian ini responden memahami bahwa lingkungan sekolah sebagai lingkungan belajar yang sehat dan nyaman, tempat pendidikan dan pelatihan, rumah kedua, tempat proses belajar mengajar, dan tempat interaksi antara warga sekolah. Lingkungan sekolah di SDK Santa Maria Madiun juga didukung oleh semangat kerjasama, tenaga pendidik yang kompeten, disiplin dan bertanggungjawab. Sehingga secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa SDK Santa Maria Madiun memiliki lingkungan sekolah yang baik dan mendukung proses belajar mengajar yang efektif dan efisien.

The school environment is one of the factors that influence the teaching and learning process. The school environment as a formal educational institution is organized sistimatically by following clear and strict requirements. The school environment is a component or an integral part of the school. All of these components or parts contribute to and support the process of achieving educational goals in school. The Catholic school environment should have a characteristic that is based on Christ’s love and evangelical freedom. A good Catholic school environment is expected to encourage an effective and efficient learning process.
The purposes of this study are: (1) to understand a good and healthy school environment, (2) to indentify good and healthy teaching and learning process, and (3) to analyze the extent to which the school environment has an influence on the implementation of the teaching and learning process at at Santa Maria Catholic Elementary School.This study used a qualitative method. The research was done at Santa Maria Catholic Elementary School. The respondents of the study were selected by using purposive sampling, a sampling technique where researcher was given the opportunity to choose the respondents of the study who have wide knowledge related to the theme being studied. Research data was collected by using google form. Respondents in this study amounted to 6 teachers at Santa Maria Catholic Elementary School, consisted of two principals and four teachers. Data was analyzed by applying inductive approach.
The results of this study indicated that respondents in general understood school environment as a healthy and comfortable learning environment, a place for education and training, as well as a second home, where the teaching and learning process took place, and a place for interaction between school residents. The school environment at at Santa Maria Catholic Elementary School. Was also supported by the spirit of cooperation, competent, disciplined and responsible educators. In general, it could be concluded that Santa Maria Catholic Elementary School had a good school environment for an effective and efficient teaching and learning process.
