Abstract
Gereja mewajibkan umat beriman menerima Sakramen Tobat minimal 1 kali setahun, namun kenyataannya umat enggan untuk menerima Sakramen Tobat dengan berbagai alasan: Jarak rumah ke Gereja bisa dibilang sangat jauh, atau terletak di pedesaan, dan ada umat yang merasa sudah sangat dekat dengan imamnya sehingga merasa malu untuk memberitahukan semua dosa yang dia perbuat. Berdasarkan permasalahan di atas maka dapat dirumuskan beberapa masalah sebagai berikut: Apa hakekat Sakramen Tobat dan bagaimana pemahaman umat Stasi Santo Yusuf Ngrejo Paroki Santa Maria Tak Bernoda Kepanjen Malang terhadap Sakramen Tobat. Melalui penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mengetahui sejauh mana pemahaman umat mengenai Sakramen Tobat.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan metode wawancara lewat Voice Note di WhatsApp. Ada 10 responden yang di pilih menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling. Responden merupakan umat yang aktif di gereja dan tidak memiliki jabatan dan umat yang menjadi pengurus ataupun aktifis gereja. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Stasi Santo Yusuf Ngrejo Paroki Santa Maria Tak Bernoda Kepanjen Malang
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman umat mengenai Sakramen Tobat, sebagian besar umat sudah paham terhadap Sakramen Tobat yakni mengenai nama lain dari Sakramen Tobat, pelayan Sakramen Tobat, tata cara menerima Sakramen Tobat, motivasi menerima Sakramen Tobat, faktor pendorong dan penghambat menerima Sakramen Tobat, perasaan yang dialami saat menerima Sakramen Tobat
dan apa yang berubah setelah menerima Sakramen Tobat.

In spite of the church suggest to receive it at least once a year, but people in fact it is not uncommon for people to be recultant to accept the sacrament of penance for various reason: The far distance from the house to the chruch or it is locates in rural area, Some people who feels so close wis pastor that feels ashmend to tell all the sins that he has commities. Based on the above problem, some problems can be formulated as follows: What is the feeding of the sacrament of penance and how the parishioner Stasi St Joseph Ngrejo of St. Immaculata Marry Parish Kepanjen Malang About Sacrament Of Penance. Through this study it is expected to know extent of the Parishioner of the sacrament of penance.
This study uses a qualitative, the data collection method used in this data is interview method. There are ten of the responders chosen using Purposive Sampling. The respondent were active members of the church and had no positions and people who were steward or activists of the church. Research is carried out in the stasi Stasi St Joseph Ngrejo of St. Immaculata Marry Parish Kepanjen Malang
Research indicates that parishioner of the sacrament penance, the majority of the parishioner alredy understand the sacrament of penance, which is about other names of the sacrament of penance, as well as the ordinance of receiving the sacrament of penance, motivation to receive the sacrament og penance, the feelings experienced ehen receiving the sacrament of penance and what changes after receiving the sacrament of penance.
