Abstract
Peran orang tua dalam pendidikan iman anak sangatlah penting. Orang tua adalah pendidik pertama yang menanamkan nilai-nilai kebajikan kristiani dan sebagai penyalur hidup kepada anak. Gravissimum Educationis mengatakan bahwa begitu pentinglah tugas mendidik itu sehingga bila diabaikan sangat sukar pula dapat dilengkapi. Sebab merupakan kewajiban orang tua menciptakan lingkungan keluarga, yang diliputi semangat bakti kepada Allah dan kasih sayang terhadap sesama sedemikian rupa sehingga menunjang keutuhan pendidikan pribadi dan sosial anak-anak mereka. Persoalan yang kerap muncul adalah: Apakah orang tua menyadari tugas dan tanggung jawabnya sebagai pendidik yang pertama dan utama bagi anak? Apabila sudah menyadari hal tersebut adakah tantangan yang dihadapi dalam melaksanakan tugas dan tanggung jawab itu? Usaha apa yang dilakukan dalam menghadapi tantangan setelah anaknya menerima Sakramen Baptis? Berdasarkan persoalan tersebut, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat sejauh mana peran orang tua sangat berpengaruh bagi perkembangan iman anak setelah menerima Sakramen Baptis di Stasi Santa Maria Assumpta Caruban. Melalui penelitian kualitatif, dilakukan wawancara kepada 10 responden dari pasangan suami-istri umat di Stasi Santa Maria Assumpta Caruban. Dengan demikian, dari data penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran orang tua dalam pendidikan iman anak setelah menerima sakramen baptis sangat penting.

The role of parents in children’s faith education is very important. Parents are the first educators who instill the values of christian virtue and as a conduit of life to the child. Gravissimum Educationis say that so it is important that the task of educating it so that if ignored very difficult to be completed. Because it is the responsibility of parents to create a family environment, which is filled with the spirit of devotion to God and love for others in such a way that’s supports the integrity of the personal and social education of their children. The issues that arise is: Are parents aware of their duties and responsibilities as first and primary educators for children? When you realize this, are there any challenges faced in carrying out those duties and responsibilities? What efforts are made to face the challenge after the child has received the sacrament of baptism? Based on these problems, the purpose of this study is to see the extent to which the role of parents is very influential in the development of children's faith after receiving the Baptism Sacrament at the St Mary of Assumpta Caruban. Through qualitative research, interviews were conducted with 10 respondents from a religious couple in the St Maria of Assumpta Caruban. Therefore, the research data shows that the role of parents in the education of children’s faith after receiving the sacrament of baptism is very important.
