Setiap umat beriman yang telah dibaptis dipanggil untuk ambil bagian dalam tugas perutusan yang diberikan oleh Kristus kepada Gereja-Nya. Namun, dalam kenyataannya sangat dimungkinkan seseorang tidak bersedia terlibat dalam perutusan Kristus dan Gereja. Sedangkan mereka yang ambil bagian dalam perutusan dan karya kerasulan Gereja bisa saja karena adanya berbagai motivasi atau keinginan lain yang mendorong, menggerakkan, dan mengarahkannya untuk bersikap dan terlibat. Berdasarkan persoalan tersebut dapat dirumuskan masalah penelitian yaitu: Bagaimanakah motivasi umat Lingkungan Santa Agnes Paroki Santa Maria Blitar untuk terlibat dalam kegiatan lingkungan? Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis motivasi keterlibatan umat Lingkungan Santa Agnes Paroki Santa Maria Blitar dalam kegiatan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah teknik wawancara langsung. Tempat penelitian dilakukan di Lingkungan Santa Agnes Paroki Santa Maria Blitar dengan jumlah delapan responden. Peneliti menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling dalam memilih responden. Kriteria responden yang ditentukan ialah bergabung menjadi umat lingkungan Santa Agnes kurang lebih 5 tahun, rentang usia 25-60 tahun, pengurus lingkungan, warga lingkungan biasa. Hasil penelitian di Lingkungan Santa Agnes menunjukkan bahwa umat memiliki semangat dan motivasi yang cukup baik dalam mengikuti kegiatan lingkungan. Motivasi utama yang mendorong umat untuk terlibat aktif ialah karena kesadaran akan sakramen baptis yang mereka terima. Selian itu,motivasi juga muncul dari berbagai sumber yang saling melengkapi, mulai dari dalam diri sendiri, pengaruh lingkungan dan keluarga, hingga kesadaran iman akan tanggung jawab sebagai umat Katolik yang telah menerima sakramen Krisma. Every faithful who was already baptized was called to take part in the mission task given by Jesus Christ to this Church. But in reality there is very possible that someone does not involve the mission task of Jesus Christ and Church. On the other hand, those who are taking part in the mission task and the apostolic works of the curch, it can be there are varried motivation or other desires that drire, mobalize, and guide them to take action and got involved. Based on that issue, the research problem can be formulated as follows: How is the motivation of the faithful in Santa Agnes Community of Santa Maria Parish, Blitar for the involvement in community activities? The research aims to analize motivation for the involvement of the faithful in Santa Agnes Community of Santa Agnes Parish, Blitar in community activities. This research employs the qualitative research method. Techniques used in collecting data is direct interview technique. The research was conducted in Santa Agnes Community of Santa Maria Parish, Blitar with a total of eight respondents. The research employed “purposive sampling” techniques in selecting the respondents. The criteria for respondents are as follows: to join as a member of the faithful in Santa Agnes Community approximafely five years, age range between 25-60 years, leader of the community, ordinary member of the community. The results of the research in Santa Agnes Community show that the faithful have the spirit and motivation are fairly good in joining community actifies. The primary motivation driving the congregation to actively participate is their awareness of the sacrament of baptism they have received. Furthermore, motivation also arises from various complementary sources, ranging from within themselves, to the influence of their environment and family, to a sense of faith in the responsibility of Catholics who have received the sacrament of Confirmation.
