Kondisi tersebut berkaitan erat dengan kompetensi dan performa guru sebagai tenaga pendidik yang perlu untuk dikembangkan lagi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur sejauh mana kompetensi pedagogik memengaruhi kinerja guru khususnya di lingkungan SMA Katolik Yayasan Yohannes Gabriel Keuskupan Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei. Populasi berjumlah 293 orang, dengan sampel sebanyak 169 guru yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan skala Likert yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil uji coba instrumen menunjukkan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,990 untuk variabel kompetensi pedagogik dan 0,987 untuk variabel kinerja guru. Data diuji dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif, korelasi Pearson, regresi linier, uji T, serta koefisien determinasi. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pedagogik berada dalam kategori sangat baik (nilai rata-rata = 4,21) dan kinerja guru dalam kategori baik (dengan nilai rata-rata = 4,18). Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kedua variabel dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,905 (sangat kuat) dan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05). Koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,818 yang berarti bahwa kompetensi pedagogik memiliki pengaruh sebesar 81,8% terhadap kinerja guru. Implikasi praktis dari temuan ini adalah perlunya pengembangan kompetensi pedagogik secara berkelanjutan guna mempertahankan kualitas kinerja guru. Hasil penelitian ini juga memperkuat pentingnya kompetensi pedagogik dalam konteks pendidikan berbasis nilai Kristiani, khususnya di lingkungan sekolah Katolik. This situation is closely linked to teachers’ competencies and performance as educators, which require further development. This study aims to measure the extent to which pedagogical competence influences teacher performance, particularly within the environment of the Yohannes Gabriel Foundation Catholic High School of the Diocese of Surabaya. This study employs a quantitative method using a survey approach. The population consists of 293 individuals, with a sample of 169 teachers selected via simple random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert scale that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the instrument pilot test showed a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.990 for the pedagogical competence variable and 0.987 for the teacher performance variable. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation, linear regression, the t-test, and the coefficient of determination. The research findings indicate that pedagogical competence falls into the very good category (mean score = 4.21) and teacher performance into the good category (mean score = 4.18). There is a significant positive relationship between the two variables with a correlation coefficient of 0.905 (very strong) and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination is 0.818, indicating that pedagogical competence accounts for 81.8% of the variation in teacher performance. The practical implication of this finding is the need for the continuous development of pedagogical competence to maintain the quality of teacher performance. The results of this study also reinforce the importance of pedagogical competence in the context of Christian-based education, particularly in Catholic schools.
