Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji manfaat kompetensi kunjungan pastoral dalam program pastoral lingkungan bagi mahasiswa STKIP Widya Yuwana Madiun. Kompetensi kunjungan pastoral merupakan bagian integral dari pembentukan karakter dan kemampuan mahasiswa sebagai calon katekis dan guru agama Katolik. Program pastoral lingkungan menjadi wadah konkret bagi mahasiswa untuk mempraktikkan ilmu pastoral secara langsung di tengah umat, khususnya melalui kegiatan kunjungan ke rumah-rumah umat, orang sakit, kelompok kategorial, dan pertemuan keluarga. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara terhadap mahasiswa semester VIII yang telah menyelesaikan program pastoral lingkungan dan dinyatakan lulus. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk mengungkap pengalaman, persepsi, dan manfaat yang dirasakan oleh para mahasiswa terkait kompetensi kunjungan pastoral. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi kunjungan pastoral memberikan manfaat yang signifikan dalam membentuk kepekaan sosial, kedewasaan rohani, kemampuan komunikasi, serta semangat pelayanan mahasiswa. Mahasiswa menjadi lebih siap secara mental dan spiritual untuk melayani di tengah umat, serta mampu menghadirkan Injil dalam relasi personal yang menyentuh kehidupan nyata umat. Dengan demikian, kunjungan pastoral bukan hanya sekadar tugas lapangan, melainkan sarana pembinaan diri dan panggilan pastoral yang utuh. This research aims to explore the benefits of pastoral visitation competence within the parish-based pastoral program for students of STKIP Widya Yuwana Madiun. Pastoral visitation competence is an essential aspect in shaping the character and capabilities of students as future catechists and Catholic religious teachers. The parish pastoral program serves as a practical platform where students can apply their pastoral knowledge directly within the community, particularly through home visits, visits to the sick, participation in small Christian communities, and family gatherings. This research employs a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with eighth-semester students who have completed the parish pastoral program and received passing evaluations. The data were analyzed descriptively to reveal the students' experiences, perceptions, and the perceived benefits of pastoral visitation competence. The findings indicate that pastoral visitation competence significantly contributes to the development of students’ social sensitivity, spiritual maturity, communication skills, and spirit of service. The students become more mentally and spiritually prepared to serve the Church and can embody the Gospel in personal encounters that touch the real lives of the faithful. Therefore, pastoral visitation is not merely a field assignment, but a means of personal formation and a holistic vocational journey.
