Repository STKIP Widya YuwanaUPAYA PEMBINA DALAM MENINGKATKAN PARTISIPASI AKTIF HIDUP MENGGEREJA ORANG MUDA KATOLIK DI PAROKI ST MARIA BUNDA KARMEL MANSALONGMaleNiaauthorABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji upaya pembina dalam meningkatkan partisipasi aktif orang muda Katolik (OMK) dalam kehidupan menggereja di Paroki St. Maria Bunda Karmel Mansalong, Keuskupan Tanjung Selor. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari pentingnya peran orang muda dalam kehidupan Gereja, namun pada kenyataannya keterlibatan mereka masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, baik dari segi motivasi, keterbatasan sumber daya, maupun tantangan internal komunitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara semistruktur yang dilakukan secara daring kepada tujuh responden yang merupakan pembina OMK di Paroki St. Maria Bunda Karmel Mansalong. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa upaya pembina dalam meningkatkan partisipasi aktif OMK diwujudkan melalui strategi pendampingan, penguatan motivasi rohani, penyelenggaraan kegiatan yang relevan dengan minat kaum muda, serta keterlibatan mereka dalam perencanaan dan pelaksanaan program. Faktor pendukung partisipasi meliputi komitmen, kerja sama, dukungan pastor paroki, serta rasa persaudaraan di antara OMK. Sementara itu, tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan dana, kurangnya sumber daya manusia yang konsisten aktif, serta perbedaan karakter individu. Temuan ini sejalan dengan konsep community engagement McMillan & Chavis (1986:52) yang menekankan pentingnya ikatan emosional dan rasa memiliki dalam mendorong partisipasi komunitas, serta teori Robbins & Judge (2017:4) yang menegaskan peran komitmen, komunikasi efektif, dan kepemimpinan dalam mendukung keberhasilan suatu program. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa keberhasilan peningkatan partisipasi OMK dalam hidup menggereja memerlukan pendampingan yang berkelanjutan, penguatan kapasitas manajerial dan spiritual, serta dukungan kelembagaan Gereja yang lebih optimal. Kata Kunci: Orang Muda Katolik, partisipasi aktif, pembina, Paroki St. Maria Bunda Karmel Mansalong =========================================================== ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the efforts of mentors in increasing the active participation of Catholic Youth (OMK) in church life at St. Maria Bunda Karmel Mansalong, Diocese of Tanjung Selor. The background of this research stems from the importance of the role of young people in the life of the Church, yet in practice, their involvement still faces various challenges, both in terms of motivation, limited resources, and internal community issues. This research employs a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews conducted online with seven respondents who serve as OMK mentors in St. Maria Bunda Karmel Parish, Mansalong. The results of the study show that the efforts of mentors in fostering active participation of OMK are carried out through mentoring strategies, strengthening spiritual motivation, organizing activities relevant to the interests of young people, and involving them in the planning and implementation of programs. Supporting factors for participation include commitment, cooperation, support from the parish priest, and a sense of fellowship among the youth. Meanwhile, the challenges encountered consist of limited funding, a lack of consistently active human resources, and differences in individual character. These findings align with the concept of community engagement by McMillan & Chavis (1986:52), which emphasizes the importance of emotional bonds and a sense of belonging in encouraging community participation, as well as Robbins & Judge’s (2017:4) theory highlighting the role of commitment, effective communication, and leadership in program success. Thus, this study affirms that enhancing the active participation of Catholic Youth in church life requires continuous mentoring, the strengthening of managerial and spiritual capacity, and more optimal institutional support from the Church.
