Gereja Katolik menegaskan bahwa setiap manusia memiliki martabat yang sama karena diciptakan menurut citra Allah (Kej 1:26–27). Melalui karya pelayanan Yayasan Bhakti Luhur yang didirikan oleh Romo Paul Janssen, CM, Gereja menampakkan kasih Allah secara nyata kepada penyandang disabilitas. Salah satu wujudnya ialah pelayanan para Suster ALMA yang mengabdikan diri bagi kaum miskin, terlantar, dan disabilitas. Namun, pelayanan ini menuntut pengorbanan dan kesetiaan yang mendalam, sehingga diperlukan kekuatan spiritualitas sebagai sumber motivasi utama. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana spiritualitas Suster ALMA menjadi motivasi dalam pelayanan kepada penyandang disabilitas di Yayasan Bhakti Luhur Malang, mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai spiritualitas yang dihayati, serta menggambarkan tantangan yang dihadapi dan cara spiritualitas membantu mengatasinya. Metode yang digunakan ialah kualitatif melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa spiritualitas suster ALMA menjadi sumber motivasi mendalam dalam karya pelayanan mereka. Penghayatan iman, doa, serta teladan Kristus, Santo Vinsensius a Paulo, dan Romo Paul Janssen mendorong mereka mengabdikan diri secara total. Nilai-nilai spiritualitas seperti kesederhanaan, kerendahan hati, kelembutan, mati raga, semangat penyelamatan jiwa, kerukunan, kegembiraan, dan kasih pelayanan menjadi dasar moral dan teologis karya mereka. Meski menghadapi berbagai tantangan, para suster tetap bertahan melalui kekuatan doa, refleksi, dan penghayatan nilai-nilai tarekat. bahasa inggris yang ini Kata Kunci: Spiritualitas, Suster ALMA, Penyandang Disabilitas =========================================================== ABSTRACT Yuli Astuti “The Spirituality of the ALMA Sisters as a Source of Motivation in Serving Persons with Disabilities at the Bhakti Luhur Foundation Malang.” This study begins with the reality that persons with disabilities often experience discrimination and social rejection that degrade their dignity as God’s creations. The Catholic Church affirms that every human being has equal dignity because all are created in the image of God (Gen 1:26–27). Through the ministry of the Bhakti Luhur Foundation founded by Rev. Paul Janssen, CM, the Church manifests God’s love concretely toward persons with disabilities. One expression of this ministry is the service of the ALMA Sisters, who dedicate themselves to the poor, the abandoned, and the disabled. However, this service requires deep sacrifice and fidelity; therefore, spirituality is needed as the main source of motivation. This research aims to analyze how the spirituality of the ALMA Sisters becomes their motivation in serving persons with disabilities at the Bhakti Luhur Foundation in Malang, to identify the spiritual values they live by, and to describe the challenges they face and how spirituality helps them overcome them. The study employs a qualitative method through interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that the spirituality of the ALMA Sisters serves as a profound source of motivation in their ministry. Their faith, prayer life, and the examples of Christ, St. Vincent de Paul, and Rev. Paul Janssen inspire them to dedicate themselves completely. Spiritual values such as simplicity, humility, gentleness, self-denial, zeal for the salvation of souls, harmony, joy, and loving service form the moral and theological foundation of their work. Despite many challenges, the sisters persevere through prayer, reflection, and the lived values of their congregation.
