Mawar Agustina Feronika Timang “Mengimplementasikan Peran Guru Dalam Mengembangkan Pendidikan Karakter Disiplin dan Tanggung Jawab Di SDK Santo Yusup Madiun”

Pendidikan karakter disisplin dan tanggung jawab merupakan hal penting untuk diperhatikan dalam rangka membina karakter seseorang. Berbekal dari nilai karakter disiplin akan mendorong tumbuhnya nilai-nilai karakter baik tanggung jawab, kejujuran, kerja sama, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru dalam menumbuhkan pendidikan karakter disiplin dan tanggung jawab di SDK Santo Yusup Madiun. Fokus penelitian ini meliputi peran guru sebagai teladan dan pembimbing, pemahaman tentang nilai-nilai karakter disiplin dan tanggung jawab, tantangan yang dihadapi dalam pembentukan karakter tersebut, serta strategi yang digunakan untuk mengatasinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, dengan informan guru wali kelas dan kepala sekolah yang di pilih secara Purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada Oktober-November 2025, dengan validasi triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Analisa dilakukan melalui kondensasi data, penyajiqan data, dan penarikan kesimpulan secara induktif. Fokus Penelitian ini adalah pada bidang pendidikan khususnya peranan guru dalam mengembangkan pendidikan karakter disiplin dan tanggung jawab di SDK Santo Yusup Madiun
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Guru berperan aktif dalam berbagai kegiatan seperti apel pagi, doa bersama sebelum masuk kelas, rekoleksi, kegiatan keagamaan, dan pembiasaan sikap positif lainnya. Dalam kegiatan tersebut, guru menjadi contoh nyata bagi siswa dan membimbing mereka untuk menjalankan tugas dengan penuh kedisiplinan dan tanggung jawab. (2) Tantangan eksternal yang dihadapi sekolah berasal dari pengaruh negatif teknologi dan media sosial, yang seringkali mengganggu konsentrasi dan perilaku siswa. Sementara itu, tantangan internal muncul dari kurangnya komunikasi efektif antara guru dan orang tua siswa. (3) Upaya yang dilakukan sekolah untuk mengatasi tantangan tersebut mencakup peningkatan komunikasi yang harmonis antara kepala sekolah, guru, tenaga kependidikan, siswa, serta menjalin kerja sama erat dengan orang tua dan masyarakat sekitar. Pendidikan karakter yang diterapkan bertujuan membentuk peserta didik yang tidak hanya unggul secara akademik, tetapi juga memiliki karakter kuat, beriman, disiplin, serta bertanggung jawab dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Sinergi semua pihak menjadi kunci keberhasilan pembentukan karakter ini.

ABSTRACT

Mawar Agustina Feronika Timang: The Role of Teachers in Developing Students’ Character Education of Discipline and Responsibility at SDK Santo Yusup Madiun”

Disciplinary and Responsible Character Education is an essential aspect to consider in shaping an individual's character. Instilling the value of discipline fosters the growth of other positive character traits such as responsibility, honesty, and cooperation. This study aims to describe the role of teachers in fostering character education focused on discipline and responsibility at SDK Santo Yusup Madiun. The focus of this research includes the teacher’s role as a role model and mentor, their understanding of the values of discipline and responsibility, the challenges faced in character formation, and the strategies employed to address those challenges.
This study employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques that include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The qualitative method was implemented using purposive sampling, with homeroom teachers and the school principal selected as key informants. Data collection took place from October to November 2025, with data validation conducted through source and technique triangulation. Data were analyzed through data condensation, data presentation, and inductive conclusion drawing. The focus of this research lies in the field of education, particularly on the role of teachers in developing character education related to discipline and responsibility at SDK Santo Yusup Madiun.
The findings of the research indicate that: (1) Teachers play an active role in various activities such as morning assemblies, joint prayers before entering class, recollections, religious events, and the cultivation of other positive habits. In these activities, teachers act as real-life examples and guide students to carry out their duties with discipline and responsibility. (2) External challenges faced by the school stem from the negative influence of technology and social media, which often disrupt students' focus and behavior. Meanwhile, internal challenges arise from the lack of effective communication between teachers and students’ parents. (3) Efforts made by the school to address these challenges include enhancing harmonious communication among the principal, teachers, educational staff, and students, as well as establishing close cooperation with parents and the surrounding community. The character education implemented is aimed at forming students who are not only academically excellent but also possess strong character, faith, discipline, and responsibility in their daily lives. The synergy of all parties involved is the key to successful character development.
