Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pelaksanaan Pendidikan Karakter serta mengetahui kesesuaian implementasi Pendidikan Karakter di SMPK Karitas II Surabaya. Penelitian ini merupakan suatu kajian paling relevan dalam kaitannya dengan pendidikan karakter yang diterapkan oleh guru di sekolah. Implementasi pendidikan karakter ini dibagi menjadi dua bagian yaitu pendidikan karakter dalam pendidikan agama katolik, dan pendidikan karakter dalam bimbingan dan konseling. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi. SMPK Karitas II Surabaya adalah sekolah Katolik, sehingga guru menerapkan nilai-nilai agama Katolik di sekolah. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) semua guru paham mengenai pengertian pendidikan karakter, (2) Pendidikan karakter dalam pendidikan agama katolik di SMPK Karitas II Surabaya dapat dilakukan dalam berbagai bentuk, seperti pembentukkan pembentukan moral dan pembentukan spiritual dalam kegiatan pastoral sekolah, (3) Dalam bimbingan konseling penerapan pendidikan karakter ini berupa pendekatan intensif kepada peserta didik karena adanya jadwal khusus. Pendidikan karakter dalam Bimbingan Konseling berkaitan dengan kepribadian anak. Guru BK diharapkan dapat membantu siswa dalam segala aspek psikologis, pengembangan diri, masalah pribadi, masalah belajar, masalah sosial dan masalah karir.

This study aims to explore the implementation of Character Education and determine the appropriateness of the implementation of Character Education at SMPK Karitas II Surabaya. This research is the most relevant study in relation to character education implemented by teachers in schools. The implementation of character education is divided into two parts, namely character education in Catholic religious education, and character education in guidance and counseling. The collection of research data was carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. SMPK Karitas II Surabaya is a Catholic school, so teachers apply Catholic religious values at school. The results of this study are (1) all teachers understand the meaning of character education, (2) Character education in Catholic religious education at SMPK Karitas III Surabaya can be carried out in various forms, such as forming moral formation and spiritual formation in school pastoral activities, (3) In counseling guidance the application of character education is in the form of an intensive approach to students because of a special schedule. Character education in Counseling Guidance is related to the child's personality. BK teachers are expected to help students in all aspects of psychology, self-development, personal problems, learning problems, social problems.
