Abstract

Salah satu tujuan didirikan Sekolah Katolik ialah untuk menyelenggarakan pendidikan dan penghayatan iman dan moralitas Katolik bagi peserta didik. Meskipun demikian, tujuan ini sering kali kurang diperhatikan dalam proses tata kelola Sekolah Katolik karena berbagai alasan. Salah satu alasan ialah sekolah dan bahkan guru Katolik lebih banyak memberikan perhatian kepada pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, keterampilan kerja, pengembangan intelektual dan lain-lain sehingga mengabaikan aspek pendidikan dan penghayatan iman dan moralitas Katolik. Karya ilmiah ini bertujuan mendalami hakekat sekolah Katolik, menganalisis peranan sekolah Katolik dalam pendidikan dan penghayatan iman bagi siswa Katolik, menganalisis moralitas Katolik bagi siswa Katolik.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Tempat penelitian di SDK Santa Maria Ponorogo. Teknik pemilihan responden menggunakan Purposive Sampling yaitu Teknik pengambilan sampel yang memungkinkan peneliti memilih sendiri responden yang memiliki pengetahuan terkait topik yang diteliti. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini melalui aplikasi whatsapp. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 6 orang yaitu 1 kepala sekolah dan 4 orang guru. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah Induktif.

Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa para responden memahami hakekat sekolah Katolik adalah sekolah yang berada dibawah naungan yayasan katolik, tempat para peserta didik mendapatkan pengajaran dan pendidikan tentang berbagai aspek kehidupan dan pengembangan diri termasuk aspek iman dan moralitas Katolik. Selanjutnya, para responden memahami bahwa sekolah Katolik berperan dalam pendidikan iman dan Moralitas Katolik melalui pengembangan aspek intelektual, dan pengetahuan tentang iman. Peran pendidikan katolik dalam penghayatan iman dan Moralitas Katolik adalah melalui pengalaman pribadi seseorang dengan Allah dan penyerahan diri seseorang secara total kepada Allah.

One of the objectives of establishing a Catholic school is to provide education and appreciation of the Catholic faith and morality for students. Nonetheless, this goal is often overlooked in the governance process of Catholic Schools for various reasons. One of the reasons is that Catholic schools and even teachers pay more attention to the development of science, technology, work skills, intellectual development and others, thus ignoring aspects of education and living the Catholic faith and morality. This scientific work aims to explore the nature of Catholic schools, analyze the role of Catholic schools in the education and appreciation of the faith for Catholic students, and analyze Catholic morality for Catholic students.
This study used qualitative research methods. The research location is SDK Santa Maria Ponorogo. The technique for selecting respondents using Purposive Sampling is a sampling technique that allows researchers to choose respondents who have knowledge related to the topic under study. This research data collection technique is through the WhatsApp application. There were 6 respondents in this study, namely 1 school principal and 4 teachers. The data analysis method used is Inductive.
The results of the study revealed that the respondents understood the essence of a Catholic school is a school that is under the auspices of a Catholic foundation, where students receive teaching and education about various aspects of life and self-development including aspects of Catholic faith and morality. Furthermore, the respondents understood that Catholic schools play a role in the education of Catholic faith and morality through the development of intellectual aspects and knowledge about faith. The role of Catholic education in living the faith and Catholic Morality is through one's personal experience with God and one's total surrender to God.
